COURSE SYNOPSIS :

This course emphasis on understanding of the animal and plant structure and fuction that covers basic physiological processes. This course covers the body’s organization, respiratory system, transport system, homeostasis, nutrition and digestive system, immunity system, control systems and hormone or chemical coordination. Basic reproduction and development of animal and flowering plant will be discuss. Animal organization, physiology, reproduction and development are coveres with an emphasis on humans.

COURSE OBJECTIVES :

1. Develop an understanding and appreciation of complexity of life.
2. Develop an understanding of the relationship between structure and physiological functions in animals and plants.
3. Develop an understanding and appreciation for the function of the body system is special and unique.
4. Better understand the way one's body is organized and functions.
5. Develop one's understanding and appreciation for the interactions which occur between organisms and their environment.

LEARNING OUTCOMES :

At the end of this course, students are able to

· Elaborate accurately the physiological functions in animals and plants.

· Compare and contrast the physiological functions in animals and plants.

· Justify the different physiological functions in animals.

· Work in group and contribute ideas to plan and design a mini project and carry out it independently.

· Apply basic physiology in everyday life.

· Appreciate that the function of the body system is special and unique.
